WOODLAWN BOWL

Woodlawn’s rejuvenation treatment started in 2018 with the modernisation of the front desk computers.  Conqueror Pro version 12 was installed and two modules were added: Advanced Reservations, which offers much more flexibility than the basic reservation module because of its direct link with the lanes and payment window, and FBT (Frequent Bowler Tracker), which allows the centre to create its own loyalty program and send mass emails to its members.

At the lanes, the SuperTouch consoles replace the old Fly consoles.  They allow the bowlers to navigate all the environments and games that BES X Ultimate, the scoring and entertainment system, has to offer.  Whether you are an avid bowler or a recreational bowler, you are sure to find the perfect way to enjoy your session.

To complete this first round, Lexer Bowling Software was installed to manage the leagues and tournaments.  Two of the features that Woodlawn Bowl likes the most are the frame-by-frame game display and the advanced statistics available on the Internet.  For those who crave for statistics, there are tons of them to analyse!

Then, in 2019, to ensure the future of the centre, Bob McKay decided to remove the 24 free-fall tenpin pinspotters and replace them by the new EDGE String pinspotters.  Unfortunately, complaints were common, because the lanes would constantly break down.  Bowling three games in leagues would take forever.  As for open play, some lanes could not be rented at all.  Fewer clients = Less revenues!  Since the installation of the EDGE String pinspotters, the speed of the game has been incomparable.  The leagues know at what time they start and finish.  Open bowling has increased considerably as they are able to accommodate more patrons.  In addition, Woodlawn Bowl save a ton of money by spending way less on labour, parts and electricity.  Everyone is satisfied: the bowlers, staff and owner!

Consequently, the update of Conqueror was inevitable.  They went from Conqueror Pro to Conqueror X (version 14), the revamped management system at QubicaAMF.

The last additions to this modernisation project were the installation of the CenterPunch capping light, Harmony ball returns and automatic DuraBowl bumpers.  Everything is clean and modern.  Nothing has been left apart!

Note that Woodlawn Bowl was a fully Brunswick equipped centre when it opened in 1992, but is now a fully QubicaAMF equipped centre.  Also, it was the first tenpin string centre in North America to be sanctioned by its national federation.
